Our Squads
Junior Development Squad
Age
8 years and under
Ability
For the swimmer aged 8 and under who would like to eventually pursue competitive swimming. They must be able to swim 25 meters of Freestyle, Backstroke and Breast stroke and developing butterfly skills.
Aim
To improve swimmers stroke, turn and diving skills to help them prepare for competition in the ACT Development Series and the CISAC Swim Academy Club Nights. Swimmers should swim two or three 45 minute sessions per week.
Development Squad
Age
8 years and over
Ability
For the swimmer aged 8 and over who can swim 50 meters of Freestyle, Backstroke and Breast stroke and 25 meters of Butterfly. Introduction and development of turns and dives.
Aim
To improve technique, turns and dives in a fun and friendly atmosphere. To encourage swimmers to become involved in competitive swimming and become involved in the CISAC Swim Academy, Club Nights. Swimmers should swim two or three one hour sessions per week.
Bronze Squad
Age
8-12 years
Ability
For the swimmer who has successfully graduated out of the junior and development program. Swimmers are capable of swimming 100m of Freestyle, Backstroke and Breast stroke and 50m Butterfly. Swim between 2-2.5km per session.
Aim
To improve their technical skills, through stroke correction ans swimming fitness. To encourage swimmers to swim at local swimming carnivals and to attempt "NSW Country" qualifying times. Swimmers are required to swim 3-5 sessions per week.
Silver Squad
Age
10 years and over
Ability
For the swimmer who has successfully graduated from the Bronze Squad program. Swimmers are capable of swimming 200m of freestyle, Backstroke and Backstroke, 100m of Butterfly, 200 Individual Medley and attempting the 400 IM.
Aim
To help improve stroke technique and to improve overall fitness. Swimmers at this level have qualified for "NSW Country" and are attempting "NSW State" times. Swimmers are encouraged to aim for National qualifying times. Swimmers are required to attend 5-7 sessions per week.
Gold Squad
Age
13 years and over
Ability
For the swimmer who has successfully graduated from the Silver squad program. Swimmers are capable of swimming 200m of each stroke, the 200/400 IM and attempting the 800/1500 freestyle. Swimmers have achieved "National Age" qualifying times.
Aim
To improve stroke, dives and turning techniques. Swimmers aim to compete at National and International competitions. Swimmers are required to swim at least 7-10 swim sessions per week.
Please Note: Children under 13 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
